Unite for Japan: Message Photo booth

To show Japan all the thoughts and love going out to them from here in NY, I set up a special “Message-to-Japan” photo booth at the Unite for Japan fundraising event. Guests were given whiteboards where they wrote, drew & expressed their support for Japan during these hard times. I hope you hear our messages Japan. Gambatte.

Unite For Japan: Fundraising

There has been a lot going on in Japan during the past few weeks. Being a Japanese-American in NY, I had felt helpless to do anything until a group of my friends came together to create a fundraising event. I had the great privilege of creating a logo for our cause. While we only had a week to pull it off, the event was a success and so far we have raise over $18,000 with donations still coming in. Over the weekend I ended up in Montclair, New Jersey. For the first time I realized how valuable my Canon G12 camera was. I’m thankful that I was able to get some nice textures. In a project from the past I helped my friend Masaki and Annie with their wedding. I enjoyed exploring art deco as the inspiration. I also enjoyed working with my hands again. I do miss the feel of paper.
